Our members are involved with numerous activities at the Midvale Elementary which include lunch buddies, pot-luck dinners and book shelving. Since Midvale school is located just a few blocks from our meeting, a class of students and their teachers will visit our club meeting, two or three times per year. A class consists of 50 or more students. Kiwanians also assist with a school rummage sale which occurs once per year. The "lunch buddies" program is a monthly activity, while the potluck dinners occur once per semester for each of the three classes. Annually, Madison West Kiwanis provide Midvale School with funds which are available to the principal for her/his use in the school. Recently, the funds were $1,000.00. Weekly, our program speaker signs a book which is donated to the school library. About 50 books are donated to the school, annually.
